1. Don’t use sunscreen when you go outside

Whereas collagen is the main protein in skin tissue that makes skin look supple and youthful. UV rays encourage the formation of free radicals in the skin, which damage the elastin fibers in the skin. When the elastin fiber is damag it will cause wrinkles and can trigger skin cancer.

2. Smoking

Smoking is also a cause of the appearance of wrinkles under the eyes. When you smoke, your body is exposed to extra oxidative stress. Later, this can damage collagen and elastin which are important for skin health. When the collagen and elastin in the skin is damaged, it can cause wrinkles. Smoking also constricts blood vessels in the face, which can block circulation to blood vessels. The skin will also lose vitamin A which functions to prevent wrinkles on the skin.

3. Repetitive movements and expressions

Facial expressions, such as smiling, frowning, and furrowing the eyebrows, can cause fine lines to appear on the face. If you speak too expressively, you may be more at risk of experiencing wrinkles, especially under the eyes. Not only that, sleeping habits can also cause fine lines if the facial muscles are pressed against the pillow all night. Research shows that sleeping on your side makes the face prone to natural lines under the eyes.

4. Excessive consumption of meat, dairy, sugar and alcohol

The food consumed also affects the wrinkles under the eyes. A recent study found that those who ate too much meat and dairy had more skin damage than those who ate more vegetables, nuts and fish. Not only that, too much sugar and alcohol can also be another cause of the appearance of wrinkles under the eyes.

5. Wash your face too often and forget to use moisturizer

Another thing that is often underestimated can actually be the cause of the appearance of wrinkles is washing your face too often and forgetting to use moisturizer. When you wash your face too often it will cause the skin to become dry because the natural oils in the skin are reduced. That way, the skin becomes dehydrated and loses moisture, making it prone to wrinkling. Therefore, after washing your face, don’t forget to use a moisturizer to keep your skin hydrated.
